This fund is aimed at providing support for post-production activities, which are critical to the success of any film project. This is a wonderful initiative for filmmakers, especially women, looking for financial assistance to complete their projects.

Our post-production funding supports films that, in a meaningful way, through plot, character, theme, or setting, benefit the Hawaiʻi wāhine filmmaking community in a professional and economic capacity. The fund is open to all filmmakers in Hawaiʻi, prioritizing projects directed or produced by wāhine. The grant can be used for various post-production activities, including editing, sound design, color correction, etc. The amount of the funding ranges from $500 to $1,500 per project.

Leanne Kaʻiulani Ferrer was a Hawaiian filmmaker passionate about telling stories from underrepresented communities. She was a trailblazer and an inspiration to many women in the film industry. Leanne was the Executive Director of Pacific Islanders in Communications, and also the founding board member of Hawaiʻi Women in Filmmaking. The Leanne Kaʻiulani Ferrer Post-Production Fund is a testament to her legacy and a step towards creating more opportunities for wāhine in filmmaking.
